Kenneth Maddy (1934-2000) served as a Republican member of the California Assembly for the 32nd District from 1970 to 1978, and as Senator from the 14th Senatorial District from 1979 to 1998. He campaigned for Governor in 1978. From 1987 to 1995 he served as Republican Leader of the State Senate. He also was a delegate to four Republican national conventions, twice being designated as whip of the California delegation.
